Beginner Handpan Workshop

In the beginners' workshop we will learn the basics of the handpan, its structure, useful basics for understanding the handpan and how best to make the notes "sing" so that we get a beautiful sound :) It is important to me right from the starter's workshop that you are given lots of useful "tools" and an overview of this wonderful instrument - we will break down the handpan, so to speak, so that you know how to make beautiful music with it. We will therefore delve into the topics of rhythm, melody and harmony, including a little music theory - how chords are divided on the handpan, chord sequences, so that we create a framework within which we can express ourselves freely and even improvise. IMPORTANT: You do not need any previous knowledge! Even if you have never played an instrument before, that is great, because I think that the handpan is a wonderful instrument for finding your way into the world of music and expressing yourself with it - it is often referred to as a "heart or soul instrument" because you can express yourself and your feelings very powerfully. There is certainly a lot of information, but also extremely useful in order to fully understand the instrument and to be able to exploit its possibilities. My goal is to give you an overview and understanding of the world of the handpan. Even after the workshop, I am always there to answer any questions! I have also prepared a workbook for the workshop, which I will send you as a PDF so that you can print it out in time :-) The workshop is aimed at absolute beginners, but I think everyone can benefit from it, even advanced players. Unfortunately, I cannot offer anything to eat, so if you want to bring a snack with you, feel free to do so! I will provide water :) It is best to bring a pen and a highlighter! The handpans will be provided, but if you have your own, you are welcome to bring it, I am always happy to have different instruments! To ensure that everything is consistent, all workshop handpans are tuned to the same key - D minor (also called D Kurd).
